Its steep, terraced vineyards feature calcareous marl, weathered limestone, and conglomerate stone. The winery employs organic farming and minimises chemical pesticides. Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Martin Waßmer ages wines in barriques made by top Burgundian coopers. Tasting Notes: The wine has a distinct ruby color with a slightly violet hue. It is aromatic and has an elegant fruity aroma of blackberries, forest berries, black cherries, and slightly smoky minerality. On the palate, it is well-structured and has a juicy fruit flavour with fine earthy minerality, well-integrated tannins, mild acidity, good aromatic depth, and mild spices in the finish. Weingut Martin Waßmer is a 38-hectare estate in Baden, Germany, near Switzerland and France. Established in 1997, the family combines vineyard experience with a passion for Burgundy wines, creating a distinctive, Burgundy-influenced style that reflects their unique terroir. The vineyards are farmed organically, and all wines are hand-harvested and carefully selected. The wines, aged in top-quality Burgundian barriques, showcase deep reds and intense yellows with fruity and woody notes, embodying a Burgundian style.
