The soil comprises a mixture of limestone layers beneath a surface of clay and loess. The Schlatter Maltesergarten exhibits an intense ruby colour with a slight purple hue. Elegant flavours include fine fruit notes such as Morello cherries, raspberries, black cherries, and blackberries. Subtle hints of dark chocolate, delicate toasting, and warm spices are present. On the palate, it offers juicy fruit, gentle spiciness, ripe tannins, and refined acidity. This wine is refined and persistent, with excellent length, and displays a slightly chalky minerality in the finish.
